Privacy Policy

Summary

Tirana Bus is a map and journey planner for public transport in Tirana. It has no user accounts. It may display banner advertising provided by third-party ad networks (see “Advertising”). We ourselves do not collect, store or sell your personal data. Your searches and selected stops stay on your device.

What the app processes

  • Timetable data. The app downloads the public GTFS timetable of the city of Tirana (and the airport lines by Luna Travel). All route searches and departure calculations happen on your device.
  • Your inputs. Stop names, times and selected lines are processed only in your browser or app and are not sent to us.
  • Location. The app itself does not ask for or use your precise location. The Android app requests only permissions needed to connect to the Internet and to show ads. Ad networks may infer your approximate location from your IP address.

Advertising

The website and the apps may contain banner advertising. Banners are delivered by third-party advertising networks, not by us. To show and measure ads, these networks may process your IP address, device and browser information, an advertising identifier and cookies or similar technologies, and may show ads based on your interests where you have given consent or where the law allows it. We do not pass any other data about you to advertisers.

Where required (for example in the EU), ads are personalised only after your consent, and you can decline or withdraw it. For users in the EU, consent is required and is collected through a consent management platform (CMP). In regions where consent is not legally required (for example Albania), ads may be shown without a consent dialog. On Android you can reset your advertising ID or opt out of ad personalisation in the system settings. The advertising network and its privacy policy will be named on this page once advertising is enabled.

Data stored on your device

The app stores a few settings in the local storage of your browser or app: the selected language, the light or dark theme and the selected base map. They never leave your device and you can delete them by clearing the site data. We ourselves do not use cookies, but advertising networks may (see “Advertising”).

Third-party services

When you open the website or use the map, your device connects to the following services. They may receive technical data such as your IP address, browser type and the requested tiles or files, under their own privacy policies:

  • GitHub Pages (GitHub, Inc.) hosts the website and the timetable file.
  • Map tiles: OpenStreetMap (tile.openstreetmap.org), and, if you select them, Esri and OpenTopoMap. The Android app uses an offline map stored in the app.
  • Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com, fonts.gstatic.com) for fonts on the website.
  • cdnjs (Cloudflare) for the open-source libraries Leaflet, JSZip and PapaParse.
  • Ko-fi (ko-fi.com): the Donation buttons only link to our Ko-fi page. Payments are handled entirely by Ko-fi; we do not receive your payment details.
  • Advertising networks that deliver the banner ads (see “Advertising”).
  • Links to other sites (for example luna.al, etransport.al, pt.tirana.al) are governed by the policies of those sites.

Your rights

Because we do not hold personal data about you, there is usually nothing to access, correct or delete. If you believe we process data about you, write to info@besaweb.al. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.

Children

The app is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect any data from anyone.

Changes

If we change this policy, the new version will be published on this page with an updated date.
